Welcome to ZigZAAAG
The Zilstra Applied Aerodynamics and Aeroacoustics Group (ZAAAG), also known as ZigZAAAG is a research lab at the Royal Military College of Canada. The ZigZAAAG name is inspired by the zigzag tape used as a boundary layer tripping mechanism on wings and blades.
Our research examines the aerodynamic and aeroacoustic performance of wings and blades for applications including wind turbines, rotorcraft and fixed-wing aircraft. We use a combination of numerical and experimental techniques to gain a deeper understanding of the underlying flow phenomena of aeroacoustic noise and the influence of rotational effects on aerodynamic performance.
